View of the Golfe du Morbihan

Stumbled upon this great feature on the regional website for Morbihan and thought it was a must to share.

Buying a property in Brittany

If you want to come and live in Brittany France and enjoy the French lifestyle and uncluttered roads, open spaces and wonderful coastlines then you’d better come and pay a visit.

Before coming over it is worth thinking about arranging to viewing appointments with some registered estate agents. A great place to find some is on www.brittany-property-direct.com they have agencies pretty much all over Brittany, all are above board and speak English. If you want it in French www.bretagne-immobilier-direct.com

Calais is about a 6 hour drive from Central Brittany, so any of the northern French ferry services are OK but obviously St.Malo and Roscoff are in Brittany, it all depends on how far you have to travel in the UK. The roads over in Brittany are much less congested than roads in the UK, making driving a pleasure.

Ferry companies like, LD lines, Brittany Ferries and P&O will all get you accross the English channel, check them all out and try out different sailing times, as some crossing are much less in demand hence much cheaper too.

Have fun!

Brittany Shooting Club

There are some updates for the Brittany shooting club that I am a member of.

I was quizzed by someone from another club about the statement that our club is ‘one of the fastest growing clubs in France’. I stand by that statement, obviously his club is a recent start up, and any club starting up precentage wise will perhaps appear to be faster growing that a well established club.

To see the updates on our Brittany shooting club click here for information in English: http://www.brittany-internet.com/BrittanyNews/ShootingampFirearms/ShootingClubinBrittany/tabid/2323/Default.aspx

Xavier Darcos, Minister of Labor, Crack down on illegal workers in France!

An important article tells how illegal workers in France and companies in France that use them are facing some very stiff sanctions from the French authorities.

For anyone working in France or employing people in France, it’s a must read!

Naturalisation – Taking French Nationality

When I moved over to France some 10 years ago, I wanted to take French citizenship as soon as I could. After divorcing my wife a few years later and enjoying a period of time where I met some very charming young French women, they convinced me that it was pointless. However more recently I’ve been thinking that it would simplify bureaucracy and could make things easier. I would always be English, though I prefer to talk about my Scottish ancestry :o

I’d like to hear from anybody that’s thinking about becoming a naturalised French citizen or has already taken the plunge!!!!

Cooking – Recipe ideas website

After picking up the name of a cool website from the television, I tried it out and think it’s the best thing since sliced bread…. You know what it’s like, I go into my kitchen in Brittany France and think, what are we going to eat tonight…… errrmmmm it’s so hard!!!!

The idea behind this website is that you don’t browse through recipes to find stuff you can make – instead you type in the stuff you’ve got in the fridge and cupboards and it gives you a list of recipes that you can do based on the ingredients you actually have available!!! Such a simple idea but so useful!

Try it for your selves: www.supercook.com saved my bacon ;)

Working in Brittany France

Just become involved in an exciting new project to comercialise a Sports Memorabilia collection.

I’ve been taken on to produce and promote a website selling signed sports memorabilia. Not being a passionate sporting person myself, it’s fascinating getting involved in this project and learning more about football and cricket than I’ve ever known before. In fact I find myself more and more interested in sporting events thanks to this project.

The website I’m working on is not ‘live’ and is just work in progress at the moment but can be seen at www.signed-sport-memorabilia.com with real products to start going on in the coming couple of weeks.

I’ve ordered a signed David Beckham photo for my step son who is potty about football :)

Bretagne-France.com

I have been receiving offers from parties interested in buying the bretagne-france.com domain name from me. However despite people offering 100 times an annual domain name registration for it, I’m not selling that cheap.

It’s nice to know that other people also think it’s a good name and worth investing in. But if I were to consider selling it, the offer would have to be significantly more.

In the meantime I’ve started the ball rolling with a simple directory and article website and will add blogs etc. all in connection with Brittany France.

Yet more late nights working on my own projects :o

A+

Bretagne-France.com snapped up domain name for Bretagne France

Recently bought the domain name bretagne-france.com it’s been a while since I decided I wanted this regional name for the Bretagne France, but all good things come to those that wait…. well I waited and after a short auction I now own bretagne-france.com - In conjunction with friends and colleagues I intend to build this site over time into the leading portal for La Bretagne!

This will include finding people to write articles, mainly in French but a little English too. I’m currently setting up the links directory and ask anybody that wants to contribute to post a message here or on bretagne-france.com

Driving in France – Priorité a Droite

Found a useful article that explains ho priotite a droit works when driving in France.

There are some pictures showing the road markings for normal junctions and those that you may think are normal but the people from the right can just pull out in front of you and it’s up to you to let them out!!!!

For more information on driving in France see: http://www.brittany-internet.com/BrittanyNews/DrivingFrance/tabid/155/Default.aspx
